FIGHT AGAINST IGNORANCE!

Changing from Nvidia to ATI

Both Nvidia and ATI make good graphic cards. However, ATI's AMD Catalyst Center does not perform well when your computer had used Nvidia's graphic drivers previously.

Most experts suggest that it is necessary to wipe out old graphic drivers.
To do so, they recommend to use Display Driver Uninstaller, and this program can be downloaded from the following link: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html .

There are several other tips if your computer does not recognize your graphic card:

1. Use another monitor to install your new graphic card.
If you encounter a case which your screen is just dark and receives no signals from your new graphic card, just try to install the new graphic card with a monitor which is never paired with your old graphic card. Although it sounds weird, this works.

2. Disconnect your secondary hard drive (and 3rd, 4th, ...)
When your computer has many hard drive partitions, and some of them has a boot log, it might make your installation process uneasy. If you know your motherboard well and know how to control CMOS-setup with ease, forget about this part.

3. Make sure your power cables are properly connected.
If your cables are loose, your graphic card will act weirdly. Moreover, it is recommended to use decent cables. Although this is unbelievable, cheap cable's cover might melt down if the cable is handling considerable power usage. So use good power cables.
